The story behind the name SP is about a sea battle outside a Spanish port. The year was 1702 when the Spanish sailing ship was attacked by an Anglo-Dutch fleet. The Spanish sailing ship was captured and it turned out to contain a large quantity of snuff. This snuff was sold in London and became known as the "Spanish" and then shortened down to only SP. During the 1800s, snuff was scattered all over the world. Snuff boxes were decorated and worn as jewelry and given away as precious and valuable gifts. Snuff is a smokeless product that is composed of fine ground flavored tobacco. It includes not only tobacco but also natural fragrances and water.
